Nadi and Nadin are a happy turtle boy and turtle girl, who have found their home at Nádas Pihanőpark.
As eternal friendships usually go, these two have been inseparable since the moment they first met. They are best friends, who love adventure, nature, mischief, and exploration. In addition, they are both into swimming, sunbathing, and filling their tummies. Luckily, they like different foods and drinks so they never fall out over a tasty snack. It becomes active shortly before sunset and often remains active all night. It is a skilful swimmer and moves quite well on land, a lot faster indeed than most tortoises.
What should you do when you come across a pond turtle? Unless they are in the middle of an open field or a tarmac road in early spring or autumn, you do not need to do anything. If there is a wet habitat nearby, you can help the turtle cross any obstacles to reach it. However, if you see a turtle on dry land on a June evening, it might be a female looking to lay her eggs. In this case it would be a really bad idea to take her back to the water. Think what the best thing is to do to help.
